Hello, my name is Christo Oropeza, and I am one of the original founders of Incline Gallery. Incline gallery is an artist-run space, that has been open since 2010. Since our founding, we have supported hundreds of artists through exhibitions, as well as have partnered with local organizations to help support our strong artistic community in SF.

We are going through many changes, and as I continue to grow into my own artistic practice, keeping Incline Gallery going forward as a connector of community, artists, and fine-arts related events has become ever-so important to my own personal mission. If you know me, you know that my life is surrounded by all things art-related. For the past 16 years I have worked within the Institutional framework at SFMOMA, in order to support my art practice as well as Incline, which is no easy task on a non-profit salary.

What I am asking for is your help, to show up for Incline Gallery, not for myself. Incline has grown bigger than all of our individual efforts, and I am now looking at running this gallery in the beloved Mission District of SF, on my own. We will see what the long-term future holds, but for now, I am looking to Fundraise 15k to assist the rent payments for the next year.

For over 11 years, Incline has supported itself on the kindness of a good landlord, art sales, and blood/sweat/ and literal tears. I think it’s time to show Incline some love back!

If you make a donation, I am designing and printing a limited series of lino-cut prints to reciprocate your love for Incline. Additionally, I will donate additional prints that have been gifted to me by my fellow artists, in order to support the gallery!

About Incline:

We are an alternative art space that fosters relationships between community and artists. We create opportunities for emerging as well as established artists to exhibit in a non-cube format that challenges and encourages experimentation in exhibition design. Our role continues to expand by facilitating outside curators, international exchanges and partnerships within a community based organization.
