Let’s help the De Kalbs!

At 4 am January 14, Ian and Bri De Kalb were awoken by a fire in the old church next door at NE 62nd/Stanton in Portland. The fire spread quickly and ignited the side of the De Kalb’s home within a matter of minutes. Luckily, they got themselves, their 1 year old daughter and their big malamute Russel out safely, but aside from the clothes on their backs, they have little to nothing left and their house will be uninhabitable for several months. One of their two vehicles and Bri’s work vehicle literally melted in the driveway due to the severe heat. Their cat was missing but thankfully has been found and hopefully will be OK. To top it off, Bri is pregnant with their 2nd child.

This is a very kind, hard-working family, many of you likely recognize from the neighborhood. Let’s come together and raise some funds to ease their pain. While they are insured, a little extra cash would go a long way in the challenging journey ahead. Suggested donation of $100, however give whatever you feel comfortable giving and please know every penny will go to help the De Kalbs get back on their feet.
