Lets help Rich Simmons through his cancer battle

Rich Simmons: Dad, Husband, Brother, Son, Uncle, Friend.
This is a hard journey. Would you consider giving what you can for my Uncle Richie and his family? Everyone who knows Richie Simmons, knows he is the most loving, respected, positive, genuine person. There really are not enough positive words to describe this man. He is loved beyond measure. This wonderful man, Richie was diagnosed with throat cancer about two years ago. The prognosis seemed to be in his favour after cancer treatments and radiation. This year in September, Richie and his family received the most devastating news. The cancer is back and in the most aggressive form. No family should have to go through this, let alone for a second time.
In the wake of the most unimaginable diagnosis, there are also the protocol restrictions at all medical centres. Richie is on the Oncology Unit so there are pretty tight restrictions yet thankfully was able to see his kids for the first time in a few weeks, this past week. So grateful!
So that comes to why we are hosting this GO FUND ME. Let’s help Rich’s family get him home where he can be with those who love him, surrounded by love, attention and care. As a single income family, this is compromised through Richie’s cancer journey. This family has always been generous and now it is our turn to pour back into them. Richie’s food costs alone are roughly $1200 a month – which he gets through a G-tube, as he can no longer eat or drink. Basically, we would like to be able to help with having a private nurse, medical supplies for then changing and daily maintenance of his tracheostomy, G-tube food and hospital equipment. This can add up quickly and it would be impossible to do this without our help. The family's prayer is that current radiation will get Richie well enough to start alternative treatment that would give them some more time to make memories. Their hopes are for a better quality of life and for his life to be extended. Deanne commutes back and forth daily, to visit Richie for the short amount of time that the hospital allows. This is a bright spot in the day for Richie.
To help alleviate some of the stress, we've created a GO FUND ME account to help relieve some of the financial hardship for current and future costs that arise. We all know Richie would be there for any of us in a time of need.
Let's all come together and give Richie, Deanne, Darian, Shelby and Cody relief where we can, and let them focus on what's important….standing strong as a family. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We are eternally grateful for anything you can give, it all counts!!
