Sebby S. Truesdail is a local celebrity of sorts, well known to the residents and businesses of Owego, NY. He is a 25 year old Village resident with Autism and other mild-level needs, known for his enthusiast promotion of local events via his social media channels. As the self-appointed "Ambassador of Owego," Sebby can be found at almost every parade, community event, karaoke night, church potluck, ribbon-cutting ceremony, open mic night, or fundraiser. You name it, Sebby is likely there taking photos to post on his Facebook page.
Sebby is a true asset to the people and businesses of Owego. He loves his community and has done so much to promote the area. Now it's our turn to show Sebby how much we appreciate him!
Sebby's mode of transportation is by bicycle. He pedals hundreds of miles each month to attend the multitude of events he promotes. His current bicycle is meant for recreational use and is not intended to be a primary means of transportation. As a result, Sebby has been plagued in recent months with a slew of flat tires, blown tubes, and other issues. Furthermore, given Sebby's stature, he needs a stronger framed bike, built for endurance and heavy usage.
Upon consultation with Mr. Kim Rudin (local bicycle repairman) and Babcock Bicycles in Endicott, NY, we have identified what Sebby needs in terms of a solid, dependable bicycle capable of supporting his stature and high usage needs. We are talking a really nice, high-end road bike with all the bells and whistles, plus important safety features like headlights, etc.
So please join me in helping to make the 2025 holiday season the best ever for Sebby!
Donations will be accepted through December 17, 2025. All funds raised will go toward the purchase of the bike and accessories for Sebby. If the goal is exceeded, the leftover funds will be put into an account at Babcock's Bicycles to cover future expenses for Sebby, such as new tires (when needed), maintenance, and repairs.
