Let’s get Carter brain surgery

Carter was born on 7/11/2013 and when he was two months old he began having seizures. It took 6 months to diagnose him with Tuberous Sclerosis, a rare genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow on vital organs. Despite multiple medications he was still having 70-100 seizures per day. We began seeing a specialist in Cincinnati, so we travelled monthly from New Orleans. At 14 months old he had to be put into a medically induced coma for two weeks from a seizure that wouldn’t stop. After 16 failed medications and an 18 month long battle with insurance, he finally had a series of 4 brain surgeries in a 6 day time frame. He is now walking, starting to talk and his overall development has improved so much. It helped his seizures by about 70% but now he will need another series of surgeries. The surgery totaled over 1 million dollars and we paid $30,000. Now we have to pay the same amount again. Between that, the travel expenses and not being able to work much it has been rough on his family.
