Our family is reaching out for help for our daughter Samantha Spencer, who was diagnosed with breast cancer on October 1st. She is a mom of two teens, Disney aficionado, labor and delivery nurse, and a fundraising powerhouse. She gives everything she has to help raise money for scouts, horses, rescue groups, ball clubs, and more. She has a huge heart and is always finding ways to give back to her community. Sam is an independent woman with a can-do attitude and a do-it-yourself streak. Unfortunately, she's met her match in the costs of receiving a devastating diagnosis in the American Healthcare System. The medical bills are piling up, with mammograms, biopsies, ultrasounds, MRIs, lab work, and consults behind her already. She is scheduled for a double mastectomy, lymph node biopsy, and the start of reconstruction on November 14. She will need 2-3 more surgeries after that to complete reconstruction successfully. Thankfully, Sam does have insurance, but despite that, the cost is just not something obtainable for her on her own. She’s been estimated for over $20,000 out of pocket in medical bills. So, we ask for any help - big, small, or otherwise - to help fight the bills and expenses while Sam focuses on fighting cancer.
