Building the Game Changer Innovation Game Platform

Donation protected
The Game Changer Movement was born in 2013, several months after the Sandy Hook Shootings. In the beginning we facilitated workshops where we rePURPOSEd violent video games and other e-waste into mosaic art that we called Conversation PEACES.
We experienced a turning point when we were creating a Conversation PEACE in Ithaca, NY with a high school class at a community center. Two young men refused to participate, and one of them exclaimed that violent video games saved his life. He then shared that his mother was mentally ill and that his father was chemically addicted and that the only people who knew he existed, were the people in his headphones every afternoon when he turned on his gaming system with the first person shooter game he chose for the day.

What's the world coming to, when someone can say that violent video games saved their life?

From that day forward, I realized that the Game Changer Movement needed to do more for and with the youth who looked towards violent video games for their sense of community, belonging, connection, and especially Significance!

We can't ask our youth to trade in a violent video game without giving them something amazing in their place!

The Game Changer Movement is here to create a gaming platform that inspires innovation and creation over killing and destruction. Earlier this year, I met Jeff Trickett; a systems engineer and a software designer who has the skill set to create this platform!  There are video games we can play where gamers can contribute to real-time research projects that actually make real-world impact. The Game Changer Platform will innovate with a Game Changing material called Graphene. The real world implications of graphene are amazing, and our youth have the skills to create and innovate possibilities that adults may not be able to see! We are growing the capacity to synthesize the graphene solutions that are innovated in the game space.

The Game Changer Movement is gamifying the real world and realifying the game world!

The average cost for a violent video is approximately $60, which is why we are asking for a contribution of $60 or any amount you are able to give, in order to forward this vision.

Before the global pandemic, humanity spent an average of 3 Billion hours a week playing video games. Now that many of us are social distancing schools are closed, the number of gaming hours per week may be closer to 6 Billion hours. How great would it be if those gaming hours could create real world impact during this time of global uncertainty? What if your children were able to innovate solutions for the new normal we all get to live into as this pandemic takes its course? Wouldn't you want them to play that game as you continued to work from home?

We are growing a Game Changer fundraising team to raise at least $7500, so that we can take the next steps in developing this platform. We are cultivating collaborations with 3D Virtual Worlds and solid waste plants which may serve as the ideal setting and the substance of our vision.

Please join us by making a contribution of any amount today!
