Lest We Forget - A Short Film produced by Joseph Mellor

Hi, my name is Joseph Mellor and I'm an independent filmmaker from the South of England raising funds for my first short film "Lest We Forget."

Before I ask for money, I'd like to introduce myself. I'm a film production graduate of Solent University and since leaving I have worked in various roles within the media industries. Most recently I've been employed as an Assistant Producer for a small London based production company, where I worked on the pre-production on a feature film. I have since taken the decision to branch out on my own, and am looking to produce my first short under my company Joseph A. Mellor Films or J.A.M Films for short.

My first short "Lest We Forget" is written and directed by my longtime friend and collaborator Scott Newman, with a story by myself and Scott. With an 11 page script set in the New Forest, "Lest We Forget" is a supernatural thriller that promises to grip audiences. Please read the synopsis below:

This project is incredibly important to me as it's my first attempt at producing something as an independent producer, taking a leading and active role in several areas of production. The idea for the story is one that I'm very passionate about, having a love for old fashioned ghost stories, and being heavily inspired by the travelling I do in and around the New Forest area. On many a drive or train journey during cold November nights I've thought how eerie yet beautiful the landscape is and wondered at the supernatural horrors that could dwell within...

As this is my first short, raising funds was always going to be one of the harder parts of production, hence why I'm asking for assistance. The funds will be used to support a wide range of production costs, whether that being the hiring of equipment, buying of costumes and props as well the payment of cast and crew. At the moment I'm starting off low and hoping to raise £500 but if I reach this target (fingers crossed!) I will try and raise a tiny bit more if I manage to reach this first goal.

Anybody who donates will be given a full "with thanks" credit on the film, with the potential for other production roles if they wish to. You will also be the first to hear about any updates and anyone donating a larger amount will receive an invite to a small premiere screening at a local cinema.
