Leo’s Sensory Needs
Leo is 5 this coming June, he is severely autistic. He is non verbal, still in nappies and very dependent on us. Leo struggles with daily tasks, I still have to get him dressed and undressed, get him in and out of the bath, up and down the stairs and cutting his food up as he will not use cutlery.
Leo is in specialist school which is helping immensely with his development. It is hard for Leo to communicate what he wants and needs as he can’t talk, he gets very frustrated if we don’t quickly realise what he is wanting.
Leo has been referred to CAMHS and they have said he is very sensory orientated and loves feeling all the sensation in his arms and legs.
We would love for Leo to have a sensory bedroom that can be his safe place and where he can go when he is having one of his bad days.
I would love to raise money for Leo to have his go to place when he is feeling overwhelmed, upset, frustrated or when he wants to be on his own.
