Leom Martens

Hello!

Many of you around Grimsby/Beamsville area may have heard of the situation that occurred very recently involving Leom Martens. On Sunday September 3rd, Leom was sadly struck by a vehicle while riding his bike. Leom is a 13 year old young man, about to start highschool, a beloved son, friend, teammate, and brother to Declan. Leom and his Family aswell are beloved members of the West Niagara Hockey community.

Leoms condition at this moment is stable, not worsening, but difficult. Leom has a long road ahead of him and we’re reaching out to our community to ask for support in these incredibly tough times for this family.

At Leom’s young age he has already suffered through some fairly intense loss and tragedy, and now he is also going through his own journey to recovery. He will likely require multiple surgeries, rehabilitation and the support of our community would be appreciated.

My family and I have always referred to Leom as a second brother/son and we all want nothing more than his family and health to be cared for whilst not worrying about everyday expenditures likes gas, food and lodging.
