The Problem
Based on best available data, COVID-19 is much more dangerous to older people and people with existing health issues. If these vulnerable people contract the coronavirus, they are more likely to be in severe condition and require hospitalization. To minimize the risk of exposure to the coronavirus, these vulnerable people are advised to remain at home. However, life is difficult for them as they still need to go out to get the essentials such as groceries and toiletries. Let's help them, while also reduce the number of likely severe cases being admitted into our healthcare system.
Lend a Hand 2020
We aim to match up thousands of university/college students and young people to help vulnerable groups with various things such as picking up groceries, food delivery, delivering masks and sanitizer, and more. Lend a hand today.
Your proceeds go toward:
+continually build technology to connect students and vulnerable members of our communities
+training for students to follow best practices provided by the public health organizations
+hand sanitizer and personal protection equipment for the students as they help the vulnerable groups
All contributions go toward expenses of Lend a Hand 2020, a program managed by Mijem.
Every dollar counts. Here are some rough estimates of how far your donations will go:
$10 - 5 masks for volunteers or vulnerable members of the community
$20 - 10 hand sanitizer bottles
$100 - 10 t-shirts for volunteers
Our milestones are:
$1,000: This would enable us to develop basic database, servers, and technology to match volunteers and the vulnerable.
$100,000: We aim to have robust technology that would be able to serve several areas smoothly. Approx. 60% of proceeds would be towards technology, 30% towards administrative support & training staff, and 10% towards program expenses.
$250,000+: Our dream is to launch this program nationwide and lend a hand to as many vulnerable people around the country as possible. Please make this dream come true.

Who are we?
Mijem is a university/college marketplace connecting tens of thousands of students at campuses across the US and Canada. With over 70+ university relationships, Mijem is an eco-friendly app for students to make money and save money. Like many people in society, Mijem is also impacted by COVID-19 as many universities and colleges are closed. Mijem is redirecting some of its energy to inspire its ambassadors and student network to help with “Lend a Hand 2020.”
Where will dollars raised go?
All dollars raised will go towards expenses of the Lend a Hand 2020 program where we aim to match volunteers to help vulnerable community members during this COVID-19 pandemic.
