Lend a Mano: Puerto Rico Recovery Fund

Maria, a Category 5 hurricane and the largest natural disaster to hit Puerto Rico in over a century, was only the beginning. The real crisis is now and this NYT video paints the picture .

As of October 3, 2017, the entire island remains in a power blackout, its power grid completely destroyed.

80% of the island still has no water.

Roads are impassable.

Essential supplies, including food, medicine, and fuel, are limited.

The majority of Puerto Ricans remain disconnected from one another and loved ones abroad – cell reception and access to the internet are gone.

We need your help. Puerto Rico is a light in the Caribbean, known for its contagious Latin music, stunning scenery, and incredibly warm people. It's my home, a part of our country and a critical ally for our military defense.

This campaign seeks to invest in both short-term relief and long-term solutions for Puerto Rico. 50% of the proceeds will go to Direct Relief, a medical relief non-profit on-the-ground right now delivering critical aid and medical supplies to victims in Puerto Rico. The second half will go towards long-term solutions, including the development of a robust, modern power grid and sustainable repairs to rebuild the island’s infrastructure. There’s no better organization to drive this effort than the Center for a New Economy in Puerto Rico.

LinkedIn has generously offered to match all employee donations dollar-for-dollar by up to $5,000.

Please support our cause, lend a mano, and help Puerto Rico get back on its feet.
