Lena Mantanona Breast Cancer Journey

My name is Marissa Reed. On behalf of my sister, Lena Mantanona, I am deeply saddened to share that as of December 2022, my sister has been diagnosed with breast cancer. I cannot bare the fact, that this is a life or death situation and present reality. Strength, Encouragement, and Prayers are what she and her children need most!

For all who know my sister, Lena is an incredibly loving and dedicated mother of three (3) children. She is a strong, faithful, and unselfish person. She is a generous soul who is humble, resilient, and a gift to anyone’s heart and time. She is a shoulder to cry on and a listening ear too many to include me. She always puts others' needs before her own and never expects anything in return.

But unfortunately, this time more than ever, she needs your prayers and financial help to assist with her incurring medical expenses as she journeys through Cancer Sucks, battle!

My beautiful, sister, Lena has undergone clinical prognostic stages (mammography, ultrasound, and magnetic resonance imaging), visited a couple of specialized doctors, and recently was informed that she must undergo a modified radical mastectomy on her right breast. What that means is because the tumor size is 4.5 centimeters, her whole right breast must be removed at the time of the surgery tentatively scheduled next month, February 2023.

Furthermore, once the doctor removes all cancer that can be seen during surgery, she may have to undertake radiation therapy and/or chemotherapy to kill any cancer cells and/or stop the growth of cancer cells. In addition, because she is going to have a mastectomy, my sister, Lena may need a breast reconstruction as an option at the time of the mastectomy or at some time after.

This is just the beginning of her breast cancer journey and I could only pray that she survives it all, would be completely healed, and becomes cancer free.

This is her breast cancer journey, I kindly ask for all the prayers and any generous donations that will help go towards her medical surgery, treatments, and any other medical expenses along the way. My sister does have medical insurance, but, it will not cover all the costs.

Thank you for your unconditional support and generosity. Please continue to keep her in your prayers, as she is emotionally, physically, and mentally seeing her life change before her eyes, but she will not fight this battle alone!
