LEJOGging for UHCW ITU

These are strange times indeed.  Confined to the house, watching the number of cases of Coronavirus rising every day, and wondering when we will ever get back to normal.  As a teacher, I'll be supporting our national effort by looking after the children of key workers at school in a few weeks time.  For now, though, I'm at home trying to help my students (and my own kids) keep their minds (at least a little bit) active during their time away from school, with a bit of maths and economics. More importantly, my wife Georgia is an intensive care nurse who will be working at University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire (or 'Walsgrave' to most of us!) throughout this crisis.  She, along with all her colleagues, will do a fantastic, selfless job going to work and keeping people safe, healthy & alive in the weeks ahead.  It's a scary thought, and not one I'd be looking forward to, but I know they will do their very best every day. All of which lead me to wonder how I could help.....and hence this 'GoFundMe' page.  As a keen cyclist the current lock down means I can't safely ride my bike outside, but what I can do is ride inside on my turbo trainer with Zwift!  Throughout the winter I've been doing around 100 miles on it every week to keep fit in the rubbish weather.  THE CHALLENGE! My challenge, over the 2 weeks of Easter school holidays, will be to ride 874 MILES - equivalent to the  famous Lands End to John O'Groats route.  That's over 60 miles per day....and I've NEVER ridden more than 50 miles in one go on Zwift!  All of my rides will be posted on Strava as soon as they are complete and I'll provide regular updates via my Facebook page (my alter ego on there is 'Badly Wiggins'!) It would be fantastic if you could spare some money to sponsor me in achieving this goal.  All money raised will go towards a big 'thank you' to the ITU staff at UHCW once this Coronavirus crisis is over.  I'm not sure at this stage exactly 'what' this thank you will be, but I'm relying on Georgia to tell me exactly what everyone in ITU would appreciate the most, both for themselves and their patients, once they have made it to the other side!  I will, or course let you know what we buy. Thanks very much in advance for your support.   Ride On! (...that's a little 'in joke' for any Zwifters amongst you!) Ross
