Legal Fund for Kylee and Korbin

A little over a year ago our world got flipped on its head when we got a fateful call. My brother wasn't able to take care of his children, Kylee and Korbin, and someone needed to come get them. They were in a poor state indeed. I will not post details in a public forum but it broke my heart to see them then. We were given a power of attorney that was good for a year so that we could enroll them in school and take them to the doctor as needed.
A year later they are still with us and thriving, they have grown physically, emotionally, and made huge strides in school. Kylee (age 9) has gone from not being able to sound out words to devouring books. Korbin (age 6) has gone from barely being able to write all his letters to being placed in the highest group in his kindergarten class.
Both have gone from being severely under weight to right on target for their ages, both have grown inches over this year. Both have made friends and are active at church.
In April we made the decision to file for custody since we were certain that when the year was up they would still be with us and we were right. We have been advised by the court, after being granted temporary custody, to retain an attorney since this case spans multiple states and the procedures can get complicated. In short it is more than likely going to be very expensive but is necessary to protect the best interests of these precious babies. We are due back in court in September in the mean time we are in the process of trying to find an attorney who will set up a payment plan but it would be infinitely easier if we had more funds available.
That's where you come in. Any little bit helps and all donations will go towards securing an attorney and getting formal custody. Any funds not needed to pay for the lawyer will go directly to their care.
Raising this money would be so indescribably amazing to us. I am just starting my career as a teacher and my husband is a juvenile corrections officer, not exactly professions that are chosen with pay amount in mind, and with five children total it doesn't leave much extra. The Lord has always provided for our needs in the past and we have always gotten by somehow. Please any amount you can give could make a world of difference.
