Legal Fees BC Supreme Court re SD61 Board
My name is Diane McNally, elected School District trustee in three civic elections. Eric Pedersen is my lawyer, and appears as the "beneficiary" in order that Pederson Veletta Christie can access the funds for their work on my behalf.
I brought a BC Supreme Court judicial review of the Board's decision to suspend me because I believe it is beyond the legal right of 5 members of this 9 member Board to act to unelect an elected colleague by banning me from the Board table, removing my right to receive Board information, forbidding me to debate motions on your behalf, forbidding me to contact staff, and removing my VOTE. If you voted for me to represent you, I can't.

But the focus issue for this review by the BC Supreme Court is this: does an elected body have the right to unelect its members?
The three day Judicial Review is over, and the three days in court will cost me at least an additional $10,000, while the Board lawyer uses your public money that should be spent on students. I'm grateful to all who have supported me so far. But the fund is empty. Go Fund Me does not show withdrawals.
Can you help with the additional $10,00 (or more) I need to pay for the court days?

This is an unprecedented case, noted by Justice Briana Hardwick. Justice Hardwick will deliver a written judgment on the legality of the SD61 Board's actions to suspend me from my duties.
