Legacy Records Staff Relief Fund

If there’s anything we learned over the past two years, running  Legacy Records, Ada's Place, and Easy Victor Cafe, it’s that people matter most in this business. Sure, great food helps. As does world class wine and coffee, but the reason a restaurant stays alive is because of our team. Whether they’re behind the counter, behind the bar, or on the line cooking—the people are the life force.

Turning off our lights and putting up our chairs this past week has taken a toll that is hard to describe. Not only for the obvious reason-we've lost hundreds of jobs, but also less obvious- we no longer have a place to serve our guests. Many of us got into this industry because we found joy and value in the service of others and making them feel good. We come together in the restaurant each day and, together bring something unique to our guests. Whether it is the most delicious food, an amazing bottle of wine, a latte made with love, or our warmth in service. We take pride in what we do each day, and how we make others feel, without a space to do this, it feels like a part of our identity has been taken away in addition to our paychecks.

Our staff is one of the best in the city. It was not easy to be one of the first restaurants to open in the new Hudson Yards neighborhood. Each day could prove totally unpredictable, but our team showed up and delivered warm service and beautiful food with a smile on their faces no matter the circumstances.

This fund is for our colleagues, our companions, our sisters and brothers who all could use a little extra love right now.

Proceeds will be divided equally between the entire staff. You may donate as much or as little, all is appreciated.

We thank you for times we’ve spent together, for the times we will spend together and everything in between.
