Leelanau's Children

This is about children and families.  We know that parents are their children’s first and best teachers, and yearn to do well by their children.  We also know that children who fall behind, stay behind.  

Parenting Communities supports families raising young children in Leelanau County by offering playgroups, home visits, developmental screenings, parent study groups, resource and referral support, and preschool-to-kindergarten connections.  Now Parenting Communities needs your help to keep this work going and ensure that no child falls behind.

Parenting Communities is Leelanau County’s community-based award winning, robust program of support for young families.  The program has a 20+ year track record of helping parents be the kind of parent they all dream of being.  Parenting Communities helps parents acquire the essential skills needed for effective parenting; makes social connections and promotes peer-to-peer interactions; and seeks concrete supports for those parents in need.  Your contribution goes directly to making these resources available to young families.

The Leelanau County Child Development Commission is the all-volunteer 501c3 organization that provides the financial resources needed to keep Parenting Communities going.  Now we need your help to ensure Parenting Communities Continues in 2019.  Your contribution goes directly to program activities that serve families, and will keep home visits, playgroups, and parent study groups going.
