Working Mom of 9 Needs Car

This is the picture of a loving family of 11 that works hard, studies hard, and is really struggling to get by . They are "givers not takers" and they thank God everyday for their blessings. Neither parent drives.
Dad gets up at 3:00 AM to ride his bike 3 miles to catch a bus to be at a day labor site at 6:00 am . He gets various jobs, one day at a time. Mom homeschools the three youngest to prepare them for starting kindergarten someday, in the hope they will do as well as their older siblings have done in school.
During the day, Mom takes the kids with her as she walks the mile to the store to get what food she can hand carry back, then to the library for internet access, and to check out books for the children. After that, she walks with them to various doctor appointments they might have.
In the evening, she collects scarves and clothes to help families in need.
This past fall life changed for the family when Mom got a job at Dunkin Donuts, just under a mile away from home. This meant that the family would have more money, but the roles would change and the children would now have a stay-at-home Dad. This made Mom the primary bread winner, and Dad the primary stay-at- home parent.
Then, during a routine vist to her doctor things changed again ...Mom was rushed by ambulance, to the hospital in front of her scared children, because of heart irregularities. During her stay there, while they waited for all the test results..Dad would walk the 3 miles each way to visit her.
Doctors diagnosed Mom with heart issues and diabetes. As a result of the diabetes, further kidney and eye sight issues were discovered which were caused by the untreated diabetes.
Currently, Mom is back walking to work in the snow while she waits for insurance coverage issues to be worked out and reinstated. Until then, she waits to get her insulin, a heart arterial stent installation, and an eye operation for her 3 year old.
Mom has fallen several times now in the ice and deep snow on the way to work, but with no other choice she continues to work full time, against her doctors's advice.
We hope to work out the insurance coverage issues very shortly so this money shouldn't be needed there. The money will go for a good used carand driving instruction for this Mom, to help to get her and her family to and from doctors, hospitals, school, and work, God willing. If we get more money, it will go for even a better car that can hold more of the family.
The money will only go to this family and be disbursed in accordance with the purpose for which it was raised and only with the approval of three of their friends and supporters.. Gary G., Marg S., and Mike S.
If after you donate to this grateful mom and her family and find yourself richly blessed in some way (like we have) ..or Karma "happens"... please come back and share your story with us.
Thank you
Gary, Marg, and Mike
