Hurricane Harvey touched down in Texas on August 25th 2017. In it’s wake it has left thousands of Texans displaced. Unfortunately, the unprecedented flooding that has occurred around the state has hit close to home for LAZ Texas. The city of Houston is home to 6.5 million people who's way of life has been devastated due to the flooding caused by Harvey.
In light of this we have been reaching out to team members in Houston. Thus far there are at least 16 team members who need immediate assistance due to the damage the flooding has caused to their personal property.
However as the rain begins to subside, and the water begins to recede we anticipate more team members will need assistance in the coming days and weeks.
LAZ Texas want to provide an opportunity for our community to support the LAZ Houston family as quickly as we can. As they begin to rebuild their lives, and the city they call home. To show support we are collecting funds to assist those in need. All proceeds will go directly to financially assisting our LAZ Houston team affected by the storm due to substantial loss to personal property. Our culture is ingrained in our People First commitment so LAZ will be matching donations up to $25,000 through the LAZ Charitable Foundation.
We will keep you all posted as distribution occurs through the LAZ Tribe.
As the flooding has affected the entire city of Houston any remaining proceeds will be donated to a verified charity focused on assisting Texans affected by Hurricane Harvey.
The Houston team embodies the Never Ever Give Up attitude and that motto is so evident and present today. #LAZHoustonStrong.
