Help Save Layla – Emergency Surgery Needed to Save Her Life

On Friday morning, our sweet Layla was full of energy—playing, growling, and being her usual happy self. By that evening, everything changed. She suddenly became lethargic and started yelping in pain, refusing to move or get out of her crate. We knew something was seriously wrong.

We rushed her to the emergency vet, where she underwent bloodwork, X-rays, and other urgent tests. While they didn’t find any blockages, her labs revealed dangerously abnormal levels, and her urine was filled with crystals—potential signs of a serious birth defect, like a liver shunt. If that’s what she’s facing, surgery is her only chance at survival.

We are devastated. Layla is still so young, and this came out of nowhere. We’re doing everything we can, but the medical bills are quickly becoming unmanageable—between emergency care, continued testing, and now the possibility of surgery, the costs are overwhelming.

Layla means the world to us. She’s family. She’s the pup who greets us with tail wags no matter what kind of day we’ve had. We just want her to be healthy and pain-free again.
