In the wake of this horrific pandemic, many of our local restaurants and bars have been forced to shutter their doors or limit their working hours to daytime service only.
Nearby there are hospitals dealing with unprecedented situations. While there are helpful, available food services during the day, many night-shift medical workers aren’t able to receive the same nourishment.
That’s where we come in. Late Night Lifeline serves to join these two worlds—paying community restaurants and bars to reopen their kitchens in the evening and deliver food to medical workers at local hospitals for their night shift.
Because tired, weary people are more liable to get sick, let’s care for the medical staff who are directly impacted—while helping our community businesses in the process.
HOW IT WORKS:
- We put the word out, asking NYC and Long Island restaurants about their availability and hospitals about their needs.
- You donate what you can—every bit helps!
- We send your donations to these restaurants. They prepare and deliver individually-packaged food at night to their local hospitals.
OUR GOAL: $50,000
This is just the start! After $50,000, we’re going to keep this going for as long as businesses and medical workers need this service. We are looking to fulfill this goal as soon as possible. Food will start dispersing during the week of April 13.
WHO WE ARE:
From media specialists to local chefs, we are passionate food-industry workers who have banded together to help serve our hospitals in need. We’re people who create what we love for the people we look up to. And, through your donations, “we” most definitely includes YOU.
