Larry Stevenson's Surviving Spouse Memorial Fund

It is with heavy hearts that we share that Larry Stevenson, beloved husband, father, and son unexpectedly passed away on June 27, 2020. Larry was doing yard work with his wife Pam Stevenson on a beautiful Idaho day when he suddenly experienced a massive heart attack. Pam and her neighbors did all they could to keep Larry alive before he was transported to the hospital. Larry and Pam’s son Brian Stevenson and daughter Lindsay Stevenson live out of town but they were both able to quickly make it back to Pocatello, Idaho to be with their mother at the hospital. Larry fought through emergency heart surgery for many hours before he finally passed away that afternoon.

Larry and Pam have always lived a modest lifestyle in Pocatello where they have many close friends and are active in the community and with their church. Pam actually works part-time at the local church and that church was kind enough to send a large group of volunteers to the Stevenson house to finish all their yard work while Pam and her kids waited at the hospital.

Larry had another family and that was his many co-workers at Amy’s Kitchen, where he served as the supervisor of a large food processing operation. Larry had an incredible work ethic and spent many days and hours at work supporting the organization’s mission and the employees that reported to him.

With the sudden passing of Larry, Pam Stevenson is facing a significant and unexpected life changing event. Because Larry was the primary financial and health insurance provider for the household, Pam will be immediately challenged with some extremely stressful circumstances that no one expects at this stage of life. Pam’s situation is complicated by the fact that both Larry and Pam both lost their jobs in recent years due to two different business closures. As such, they were forced to deplete their savings while they both searched for new employment opportunities. Pam’s current part-time job will not be sufficient to pay current debts, cover the cost of health insurance when she loses the coverage provided by Larry’s employer and, most importantly, save the family home.

It is our hope that Larry and Pam’s many friends and family members will come together to provide enough financial contributions to buy Pam some time to get back on her feet and once again become self-supporting, while she also grieves the loss of her husband of 32 years. We ask and thank you for any contributions you can make to help Larry Stevenson’s surviving spouse. All funds will go directly to Pam Stevenson.

Larry’s son Brian shared the following about his father: "My dad was the greatest man I’ve ever met. He gifted me with so many incredible qualities and made me the man I am today. He was a father to more than just his immediate children as he had a huge positive impact on everyone he came in contact with. My heart has been shattered because I lost my hero. Right now, my mind looks toward the future with worry for my mother. This was completely unexpected and she is lost. She is someone who always had the door open to me and my sister’s friends and made sure to mother all of us in good and bad times. I’m hoping that we can give back to the ones who endlessly gave, and help support the selfless mother in a time of catastrophe.”

Larry’s daughter Lindsay shared the following about her father:

"As difficult as this time is for our family, we remember my dad as he was – selfless and strong. He is known for his kind and compassionate heart and was the first to give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Just like he and my amazing mom did for everyone around them, Brian and I are trying to figure out how to help. My mom has to now navigate this devastating loss and she deserves to have one less thing to worry about. We will forever miss dad and hope that mom can feel loved and supported through all of this. I love you dad, we hope to honor the legacy you left behind. "
