Cutting off dreadlocks for charity
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
My name is Benson and I am a dedicated individual who is passionate about improving the environment and living conditions in my local community and surrounding areas of Tanzania. Born and raised in Tanzania, I’m the founder anddirector of The Green Living Planet, a local non-profit organisation that is dedicated to environmental conservation and people’s welfare, specifically community development (www.greenlivingplanet.org Certificate of Registration Number S.A. 18106 ).
At the end of December I will be cutting off my dreadlocks, which I’ve had for more than 4 years, with the aim of raising £2000 (approx US$3200) to build a water tank, plant six sustainable vegetable gardens, and start a lunch program at Laroi Primary School, Arusha, Tanzania.
The school, which is 20 kilometres outside Arusha city centre, has 432 students, 12 teachers, and 7 classes. Many students walk over 6 kilometres to come to school and all they eat is porridge in the morning. By planting sustainable vegetable gardens we aim to provide an important source of food for students at lunchtime and improve nutrition and concentration levels. The gardens would also serve as an outdoor classroom for the students, where students can experience their connection to the earth and food.
So please help us achieve our goals by donating any amount you can. No donation is too small.
Pictures before, during and after cutting my dreadlocks, and pictures of how the funds have been used at Laroi Primary School, will be posted both on our website and all our social media pages.
Please check out our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/greenlivingplanet?fref=ts for details of current projects at Laroi Primary School and details of all our other projects.
Thank you for your support and taking the time to visit my page.
