Lankeys Creek Bush Fire Support

With a heavy heart families of Yenches Road, Lankeys Creek start 2020.

My Dads beautiful property between Holbrook and Jinjellic has been devastated by the Green Valley fire that is more than 182,000 hectares and continues to burn.

After days of working to protect their homes my Dad and his neighbors were forced to evacuate Friday January 3rd. Upon returning today we found Yenches Road missing houses, machinery sheds, buildings, vehicles, fences, vegetation, stock and wildlife lost.

These funds will be distributed directly to the residents of Yenches Road for each landowner to use as they see fit. The residents of Yenches Road have suffered immeasurable losses, they currently have no power, no telecommunications, limited water supplies, limited feed, no fences and limited access to their properties due to trees down on their tracks. 

Today I watched my Dad stand in a blackened burned rubble telling officials “I’ll be right mate, plenty of people need the help more than me.” These residents might not like to accept the help but they could sure do with the support of our community right now to get them back on their feet.
