Homefulness in So-Called Bellingham

Spende geschützt
This money is going to Land Liberation in so-called Bellingham, occupied Lummi and Nooksack land. The Bank of ComeUnity Reparations will match the first $10,000 raised with $10,000.

POOR Magazine is being called in by this so-called Bellingham Washington occupied Nooksack and Lummi territory of Turtle Island to share the medicine and the template of Homefulness, a Homeless Peoples solution to homelessness.

"Where are we going to go after we have been evicted,?" said Aunti Frances Moore, a formerly houseless member of the Po Poets project, poverty skola, author of the Making of Aunti Vol #1 & 2, and one of the Co-authors of the Homefulness Handbook.

"Us poor and homeless people in the US are in a state of emergency- between the demolitions of thousands of units of public housing, the extreme rise in gentrification and post-pandemic evictions of low-income and working class elders and families and the concurrent rise in the criminalization of unhoused encampments and our bodies, which is why it is so urgent for people to listen to our own innovative solutions to poverty and homelessness- solutions like Poverty Scholarship and the Homefulness Project so they can build their own solutions," said Lisa Gray-Garcia, formerly homeless single parent, co-author of Poverty Scholarship - Poor People-led Theory Art, Words and Tears Across Mama Earth and Criminal of Poverty - Growing Up Homeless in America and the most recent release the Homefulness Handbook and The SideWalk Motel- Poems and PoShunary from a poverty skola.

The Bank of ComeUnity Reparations was started by POOR Magazine. ComeUnity Reparations is a concept launched by Lisa Tiny Gray-Garcia rooted in the notion of interdependence. It is a healing medicine of resistance to the lies of independence and the separation nation, which frame success as land stealing, wealth hoarding, building lives separated from family and community and, in the process, engaging in the violent act of looking away from people who are poor or unhoused. These lies harm all of us. ComeUnity Reparations recognizes our shared humanity and offers a path forward by instructing those of us who benefit from stolen or hoarded resources to engage in loving, radical redistribution of these resources.

The POOR Magazine Community Reparations model is taught to and shared with other poor and Indigenous peoples movements who would like to start their own version of homefulness. Folks with race, class, and/or formal education privilege who are interested in redistributing or reparating are invited to redistribute their resources here to the liberation of this land in so-called Bellingham.
