Lamar is actually the Hero!

Donation protected
Over last weekend, this man, Lamar, was walking along busy Gaston Ave, and noticed a dog playing in traffic so he stopped to help as did other passersby. They worked together to get the dog out of danger and eventually Lamar was able to slow Mabel down long enough to grab her in an alley. He had gotten completely dirty in the process.

The group disbanded and Lamar took Mabel to find who she belonged to. His home was nearby. He stopped and sat for a bit before walking home. Meanwhile, a neighbor snapped pictures of him holding Mabel, not knowing about the chase/capture, then posted them online, saying it looked suspicious. Just then, the owners posted saying Mabel was their dog and that this guy stole her. It was a complete assumption.

Within hours, and with the help of the internet, Lamar was identified and his full information and history posted for anyone to read. At the same time, the witnesses who had worked with Lamar informed the owners of the complete story, including the chase and how Lamar caught her, but the owners continued to insist that Lamar was the thief, even though there was no evidence.

The owner, who is 6' 6" and very intimidating, by their own description, showed up to Lamar's residence with weapons and threats. Lamar was peaceful and insisted that he saved Mabel. The owner mocked him and brandished a knife and long steel pipe.

For the next 3 days, Lamar's picture circulated all the way as Austrailia and Canada with people labeling him the thief and saying terrible things about him, even though there was plenty of evidence that he'd been responsible for getting Mabel home and no evidence to the contrary.

A reward had been offered for the return of Mabel, which Lamar didn't get and he deserves it. He didn't have to stop his day and dive around in an alley or run around in a busy street to save a dog, especially to be treated as a thief and threatened with violence and slandered, in return.

Let's celebrate Lamar for being a wonderful, caring human and going out of his way to save Mabel and get her home. He didn't deserve the treatment he got from the owners and the rest of the internet. Let's restore his faith in humanity!
