Lahaina fire Serna family funds

Hi everyone. My family and I are one of the many families that lost their homes on May 8 because of the fire that spread all throughout Lahaina. We are all safe but our apartment complex has completely burned down. My Dad, sister, I were all able to escape to Kahului however my mom, brother, and dog are still stuck in Kahana. All entrances into Lahaina are blocked at the moment while fire continues to be put out and search and rescue efforts are complete. The reality of it is so much worse than what is being reported. We have no other family members here on Maui and don’t have anywhere to go. My brother and mom were only able to grab a few important documents and water as sparks of fire came at them. We have lost all our belongings and money we had stored away. We are thankful for any donations. But most importantly we need your prayers for us and everyone who was affected. We are still in shock, but have trust in God we will overcome this moment. We have our lives and we couldn’t be anymore thankful for that. Thank you to everyone who has helped Lahaina residents by feeding us and providing us with necessities. God Bless.

Hola. Mi familia y yo somos una de las muchas familias que perdieron sus hogares el 8 de mayo debido al incendio que se extendió por todo Lahaina, Maui . Todos estamos a salvo, pero nuestro complejo de apartamentos se ha incendiado por completo. Mi papá, mi hermana, y yo pudimos escapar a Kahului, pero, mi mamá, mi hermano y mi perro todavía están atrapados en Kahana. Todas las entradas a Lahaina están bloqueadas en este momento mientras se continúa apagando el fuego y se completan los esfuerzos de búsqueda y rescate. La realidad es mucho peor de lo que se informa. No tenemos otros miembros de la familia aquí en Maui y no tenemos adónde ir. Mi hermano y mi mamá solo pudieron llevarse algunos documentos importantes y agua cuando les llegaron chispas de fuego. Hemos perdido todas nuestras pertenencias y el dinero que teníamos guardado. Estamos agradecidos por cualquier donación. Pero lo más importante es que necesitamos sus oraciones por nosotros y por todos los afectados. Seguimos en shock, pero tenemos fe en Dios que superaremos este momento. Tenemos nuestras vidas y no podríamos estar más agradecidos por eso. Gracias a todos los que ayudaron a los residentes de Lahaina al alimentarnos y darnos los necesario. Dios los bendiga.
