Greg Lage Family Support Fund

Donation protected
Nov 13 update - Tonight The Iowa Taproom hosted a truly incredible fundraiser for Greg and his family. The room was packed with so many people who love and support them. The Taproom staff was excellent. It was clear that many people had dedicated time and energy to making the event a success. Over 100 items were donated for a silent auction. The community rallied, and it was beautiful. It was apparent how much it meant to Mindy and the girls to have their many beloved family and friends gathered together in community and fellowship. Thanks to everyone who planned, donated, served food, tended bar, bid in the auction, bought shirts, and showed up to bring the love to the Lage family.

Nov 7 update - Greg went on a big road trip! He moved out of Mercy Hospital and into On With Life in Ankeny for rehab. Mindy wrote a great update in the CaringBridge journal that includes some photos of Greg taking an ambulance ride!

Oct 27 update - A lot has happened since the last update. Greg is awake, out of the ICU, starting some physical therapy, and recovering from surgery on his broken collarbone. His family is navigating more difficult decisions around rehab care. While there is much to be grateful for regarding Greg's progress, many unknowns remain about his condition. Mindy has been keeping an incredible journal on Greg's CaringBridge page. Please continue to lift them up in prayer and healing love. Many miracles have brought Greg back to us, but he and his family have a long journey ahead as they move into rehab. Keep believing in the power of prayer, faith, love, and community. Keep believing in Greg's recovery to his whole, healthy self, his family and friends, and the full life he enjoyed as a teacher and coach. Thank you for all the support.

Oct 9 update - Our incredible friend Greg is still in the ICU. It has been a difficult week as his care team navigates his condition. We remain rooted in faith and hope as we wait for Greg to heal and regain consciousness.

Greg Lage was in a severe bicycle crash Saturday, October 1. It seems most likely that he hit some gravel or slid out on his bike. By the grace of God, two police officers found him within minutes. The circumstances of how and exactly when they saw him are absolutely nothing short of miraculous. He went straight into surgery with a neurosurgeon and is in the ICU. They will not have a solid prognosis until he wakes up, which he has not done yet, though there have been encouraging signs.

This fund was established to help the Lage family with personal or medical needs during this difficult time. Greg is likely to face a significant and lengthy recovery. They appreciate the love and support of their community.

THANK YOU for the prayers, calls, texts, visits and love. They feel it all.
