UPDATED Monday 19th August This is Lacey, shes 7 years old. For the last 4 years she has been battling Leukaemia..... Unfortunately, after kicking cancers butt the 1st time, the nasty disease came back in June last year!! Shes done it all with the biggest smile on her face, she is the most bubbly and fun loving character and never lets anything get her down!! Even while being in isolation for 6 weeks!! She puts some of us adults to shame..... Recently Lacey was given a chance to try a new treatment for wales. Her family and friends were ecstatic. To do the treatment she had to have T cells taken, they genetically modify them to fight the cancer when it returns then they give them back to her. its a long lonely process of which she had to go to london for.... She did it with that infectious smile and lets do this attitude. Blood work and bone marrow test's are done once Lacey goes home, this is to check that the t cells are there ready to take over Laceys war. Like any treatment it comes with risks that they dont find the T cells and Lacey is left to battle the cancer herself once again on its return. Her blood's are back and unfortunately this is what has happened this time.... Tash (her mum) got the puppy with help from all that donated up untill the point of her coming home.... Lacey and her loved ones can't thank you enough.... It is likely that lacey will soon be back to spending most of her time in hospital as she has done of and on most of her life, as its highly likely the cancer will come back.....soooooo im going to raise the target with probably no chance in the world of getting to it. I just feel like she deserves to be a child for a while ....go on day trip's, go to a farm, enjoy a swimming pool, meet Mickey mouse which i know her mum is trying to fit in this year after recent news, any help would be hugely appreciated.
