Lacee Sandgren 2022 LBDI Campaign

Tax deductible
I am participating in The Junior League of Topeka's Little Black Dress Initiative, a campaign to raise awareness about the challenges that face 1 in 6 Topekans living below the poverty level. As an advocate, I will join others in The Junior League of Topeka wearing the same black outfit for five days to raise awareness about the challenges facing those living in poverty. I will raise funds to support their mission as we work with our community to improve these statistics.

Can one black dress (or in my case shirt to teach in) for five short days create awareness about issues that affect others for a lifetime? I know it will illustrate how limited resources can affect daily life when I am up doing laundry after I get off work at 10:00pm to have my outfit clean to wear the next day. And hope my journey with the LBDI will raise awareness in your life about community instability.

More information about Junior League of Topeka: The Junior League of Topeka is an organization of women promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action of trained volunteers. Please support JLT as we tackle this important issue. You can also follow my Little Black Dress Initiative journey on my social media.

Thank you for your support!
