Laasya 2015

Laasya is the nation's premier travelling competition for Indian classical dance, founded in 2010 by Boston University and MIT. Each year the competition is hosted by the current winners. This March, Natya at the University of Washington is proud to host Laasya 2015 - the fifth anniversary of this growing establishment. Ten collegiate teams will convene at the University of Washington to compete for both the 2015 championship title as well as the privilege of hosting the prestigious competition the following year. Displays of the highest quality Indian classical dance will be brought forth to a diverse audience drawn from both the UW and Greater Seattle communities. By creating a competitive atmosphere, Laasya 2015 makes the rich culture behind Indian classical dance exciting, accessible and educational to the multitude of generations attending.
