I am raising funds for Mr Noel Mbwambo, a farmer and entreprenuer, whom I met when he was our safari guide in 2014. The cover photo shows my friend Noel, along with my wife Meredith, on our visit to his farm in 2016. Noel's farm is in Usangi, Tanzania, The region is semi-arid and farming is dependent on sparse rainfall. In 2015 Meredith and I personally gave Noel $6000 to dig a 30 meter, hand-dug well, along with storage tanks and materials for a drip irrigation system. Unfortunately, the 30 meter well was not deep enough for sustained water flow. A separate donor recently gave Noel $12,000 for a much deeper 120 meter well. This was just completed in April 2018 and the water quality is abundant and potable. I now seek $5000 for a 3-phase generator, 3-phase pump and a few additional accessories, that are needed to pump water from the deeper well.
All of the donations received will go to Noel. I have no business interest and receive no benefit. I do this purely because Noel is my friend and I have visited him at his village and have observed the good work he is doing. Noel is a leader in his village of Usangi, pioneering efficient drip irrigation systems, employing village members and growing food for the village school. This water source will have a great impact on Kwetu Usangi (Usangi my village). Please help!

The drill site for the 120m well

Flushing the new 120m well. Abundant water!!!

Some of the local villagers employed on the farm.

Planting ginger, the main cash crop. Note the water drip system

The farm is very hilly. A ginger field, with an intermediate pumping station and tank.
