Justen and Nikki's Adoption Fund

When Justen and I got married two years ago we immediately knew we wanted a family. When I was diagnosed with cancer that dream was put on hold. I have made a full recovery and have been cancer free for 1 year and 8 months! As soon as I was medically cleared, we began to focus on our dream to become parents. After well over a year of trying we were both diagnosed with infertility. We spent months doing infertility treatments and procedures hoping that this would be the time it works. We listened to people tell us to "hurry up and have kids" and "your biological clock is ticking". If only they knew how hard we were trying, and how desperatetly we hoped to become parents. There were endless nights of tears and frustration every time I took a test and saw only a single line indicating once again it did not work.  After spending thousands of dollars and having multiple dissapointments we decided we needed a new approach to help grow our family. We decided adoption is the right decision. Instead of pouring even more money into fertility treatments that may never help us bring a child into this world, why not use that money to help a child who needs a loving home. The only problem with this plan is the expense. It costs on average about $40,000 to adopt. This was just another dissappointment for us, since we have spent most of our savings on trying to get pregnant (keep in mind this was only a few months of fertility treatments, it is so expensive!!). As my mom has been saying, "it takes a village", and that is why we are asking for any help or support you may be able to give in order to make this dream a reality. Justen and I have so much to offer a child and look forward to hopfully being parents someday. Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
