Support Heidi's Journey to Health

On February 7th, our mother, Heidi, was admitted to the hospital and is currently in the icu. As a Type 1 diabetic, she faced serious complications after contracting the flu and COVID, leading to Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA). For those unfamiliar, DKA is a severe complication of diabetes where acids build up in the blood, reaching potentially life-threatening levels.

Her doctors have advised that she take at least a month of work to focus on her health and strength. While she has a long road ahead, we’re working closely with her medical team to get her back to health and exploring the option of getting her an insulin pump to better manage her diabetes.

For those who know our mom, you know she’s one of the kindest people with the biggest heart. As a single mother, even with all of us in our 20s now, she continues to be our biggest cheerleader and does everything for those around her.
