Several years ago, I was diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease. While being treated for that, they found out that I also have Multiple Myeloma.
There is no cure for the kidney disease except a kidney transplant. I'm not eligible for that due to the cancer.
There is no cure for the cancer either. I will have to take chemo treatments off & on for the rest of my life.
I will eventually have to start kidney dyalasis along with the chemo.
The out of pocket expenses that I have are enormous. I have one prescription alone that is $800 a month.
I'm on disability, so I'm on a very fixed income. The premium for my secondary insurance is $100 a month instead of $50 as of January .
I'm only 52 & still have a lot of living left to do. With the cost of all my medication, my co-pay at each dr visit & my monthly premium for insurance, I have nothing left over for necessities like groceries & electricity.
If I could get caught up with the medical bills, I could breathe a little easier for a while.
