Help Jeremy Fight Cancer
Beschermde donatie
Family & friends, I am reaching out to ask for support to help financially with my cancer journey over the next year.
The first symptoms became evident in January 2024 ie. shortness of breath & lethargy. On visiting my GP, blood test results on the 11th March 2024 indicated low Haemoglobin & Red Cell Count ie anemia. Further blood tests results revealed anemia as worsening.
Concerned that the anemia might indicate Chronic anemia (indicative of chronic disease) my GP booked me to have a CT scan which revealed a ‘mass’ in my right lung.
Referred to a Respiratory Specialist & subsequent biopsy bronchoscope procedure, pathology results confirmed Stage IV Non Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) - adenocarcinoma.
My Oncologist swiftly got me into treatment involving 4 rounds of Chemotherapy treatment ending on the 12th of August 2024. As scary & as taxing to my body this treatment was, I had wisely by this point adopted an organic vegan no sugar GF diet including daily vegetable juicing which I believe helped my body heal from the toxicity of this procedure.
Less than two weeks later a CT scan confirmed No Evidence of Disease (NED) or ‘complete response’ to treatment. This was certainly a moment to celebrate & a big milestone at the time.
Unfortunately this was short lived. Having had 6 weeks or so of rest & repair, I started to have severe mobility issues on the left side of my body predominantly leg & arm. Having fallen over at home & unable to stand up my friend Vanessa phoned for an ambulance & I was admitted to Lismore Base Hospital. Results from a CT Brain Scan on the 8th of November 2024 showed that my primary cancer had metastasised to the right side of my brain showing several legions.
Admitted to the PA Hospital in Brisbane, I received Gamma Knife Radiotherapy & surgery including a Craniotomy & resection of dominant lesions. I spent two weeks at the PA in recovery watching my body heal from paralysis to gentle movement to walking out of hospital with no assistance.
Having had successful surgery & radiotherapy treatment for the brain lesions, I was admitted to Lismore Base for another two weeks of recovery & observation. As I’ve come to accept, there is never a dull moment with Stage IV cancer. Whilst in hospital another CT scan revealed that my primary cancer (NSCLC) had returned with further metastasis to chest lymph nodes. Given that the 1st line of Chemotherapy treatment & a following 5 months of Immunotherapy treatment had proved unsuccessful I have started my 2nd line of Chemotherapy treatment having completed 2 of 6 rounds beginning the 11th Feb 2025.
Wait for it there’s more!….Having being discharged from hospital & had 2 weeks at home I again had to be admitted to hospital. I started to feel very strange at first then experienced seizure-like symptoms on the LHS of my body. Diagnosed as having ‘Focal’ seizures, a type of seizure that affects only one side of your brain and body, I was dosed heavily on anti-seizure medication. Over two weeks symptoms gradually disappeared & I was discharged on the 20th Dec 2024.
Honestly I don’t know how I have endured this roller coaster ride though I remain determined & positive.
Now I am really excited to share with you that I have recently joined a clinical trial, the ‘ReDO’ cancer treatment study, conducted by the research team at the Willow Vale Clinic, Gold Coast & The National Institute of Integrative Medicine (NIIM), Melbourne.
The Integrative approach supports & includes conventional Oncology though recognises there is a desperate need for alternative treatments with less toxic effects than chemotherapy or radiology. The ReDO protocol repurposes & combines multiple approved standard medication & supplements for cancer treatment, each part playing a role in stalling cancer growth, e.g. by blocking sugar & fat uptake of cancer cells and/or inducing cancer cell death.
Although family & friends have been more than generous over the last 9 months, my treatment over the next 6 months with the ReDO trial gets expensive.
Including:
1. ReDO Medications & Supplements for 6 months $8,100
2. CTC Testing Initial & Repeat $1,500
3. Two weeks stay at Willow Vale Clinic for administration of IV Treatment including VitC, Helixor A (Series 1, 2 & 4) & Immucothel $9,000
4. Travel & Accommodation expenses e.g. Upcoming Gamna Knife Treatment 6 days PA Hospital Brisbane $3,000
TOTAL: $21,600
Thank you for any contribution you're able to make and for sharing the link. Every single contribution - no matter the amount - will help as we navigate this extremely difficult time. Funds raised will go towards treatment, medication, specialist appointments, travel & accommodation.
I will be posting a link to this appeal on Facebook to utilise as a platform to keep in contact with all of you & keep you informed as I progress with treatment & progress to a cancer free life. Please feel free to ask even the difficult questions as I would like to bring awareness to the experience of people dealing with cancer & promote understanding & connection.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Your generosity, kindness & support i am deeply appreciative & grateful for.
