Koyama Family Affected By Lahaina Fires
Donation protected
Please Kokua,
My name is Emi Yamauchi and I am trying to raise funds for my sister-in-law Lori. Lori was born and raised in Lahaina, Maui where she has been a school teacher at Lahaina Intermediate for many years. She and her daughter escaped the flames Tuesday evening with literally just the clothes on their back. Details are still scarce but her husband has been located and he is confirmed safe as well. All phone and electric lines are down in Lahaina so communication is difficult as of the writing of this. We have been getting bits and pieces of information through other family members but, by the grace of God, we can confirm that everyone is safe. We pray that the situation remains the same as there is a lack of running water in many parts of Lahaina due to fire damage.
A family member has confirmed that her husband was able to go by the house today and it is in ashes. The catastrophic extent of this fire has turned their community to ashes including Kam Elementary School, churches, and many local businesses. We are asking for any help that you are able to provide. We would like to raise $5,000 to cover the cost of food, shelter, and immediate living expenses while they figure out their next move.
Mahalo nui loa for your support and for helping my family through this unbelievable time.
With deepest gratitude,
The Yamauchi Fam
