Maria Recovery Aid for Kotthoffs
Donation protected
Hurricane Maria had devastating effects on Puerto Rico, including its power and communication infrastructure. Many sources are estimating that it could be months before electricity is restored on the island. Consequently, items such as generators, satellite phones, and water filtration systems will be essential. Donations will go directly to the Kotthoff family to meet their immediate and future needs as they recover from the hurricane. The funds will also be used to help the families in their community. As we all know, personal care products can add up very quickly, not to mention the need to supplement for electricity and communication. Current needs include airline baggage fees, generators, satelite communication hotspot, satelite phones with minutes, portable water filtration, batteries, muck boots, non-perishable food, and personal care items such as feminine hygeine products, hand sanitizer, toilet paper, etc.
For those of you who don't know me, Jon and I have been friends since elementary school. We knew each other through efree and our homeschool community (some of you may know me as Vanessa Keitel). When Jon and I were coordinating the setup of this fund, he requested that his friend Al DeBolin be responsible for distributing the donations to him since the banks in Puerto Rico are not functioning.
