Knysna fire disaster

This is an appeal on behalf of Knysna and surrounding areas. My name is Conor McDonald and have family and friends directly impacted to the devastation of the fire disaster in Knysna. The Knysna community have got together to help each other out and this campaign is here to support them with their activities.

There has been a massive fire disaster; urgent and immediate help is needed for the Knysna community. A fire has totally devastated the area with at least 800 homes currently destroyed and many lives destroyed. The community, that are able, have got together to help those in immediate need and have also started rebuild plans with brokers, architects, engineers, etc. There are also plans for getting 12m shipping containers for temporary accommodation during the rebuild that lies ahead. My brother and father-in-law are in the middle of it all and I am able to get the funds over to them, for the community, to help with the efforts.

Everyone is worried that people will leave an already fragile economy if things are not put in place asap. Please anything you can give will help those in need. Every dollar donated is equivalent to R10; so any help will be appreciated!

All funds will be transferred to my father-in-law who will pass it onto the main relief management centre in Knysna or equivalent organisation. 

The funds will go to whoever they determine is most in need within the community and will most likely be for immediate needs such as food, clothing and temporary accommodation for those who have lost everything.

I will transfer any funds that are collected at the end of each week.
