Hi my name is Kirsty, wife, mum, full time teacher, and Pro Fitness Athlete from Brisbane, Australia.
Three years ago I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression. After months of riding the roller coaster I made a lifestyle choice, I set out on a health and fitness journey for my mental and physical health.
This started with making simple choices to eat right and start exercising daily. This soon became a passion and I embarked on a journey to compete in fitness shows. I have coached and prepped myself, doing all my training in my little home gym I have created. I won gold at my first state show in the sports division and won bronze at the world champs the same year.
This year I achieved one of my dreams and became a fitness champion and Pro Athlete at Ms Fitness Australia. It has been an incredible experience and I hope to share my success with millions more through sharing my story of success, not only of becoming a Pro Athlete, but rising above the 'depression and anxiety' label and living a healthy and positive life!
I have the opportunity to step out on the international stage from 21-24 November 2019 at the Fitness America Weekend and compete as a Pro Athlete, which would see another dream of mine come true.
To compete overseas I must pay for international flights, transport, hotels, competition fees and associated competition prep. I would need to take a couple days leave, as I am a full time teacher at a Christian College.
Every dollar will help me on my journey to Fitness America Weekend to represent Australia as a Pro Fitness Model.
Any funds I make over my target I will be donating to Beyond Blue to be able to help others meet their mental health needs.
