Kirk Smith. Sigma Nu, GK 1208

Hello Sigma Nu Brothers, this is Bill Morck (AKA Schmorkles) GK 1216, Boulder, CO. Brother Kirk Smith, GK 1208 passed away November 29th, 2023 from complications of an acute illness in Palm Beach Florida. He was a few weeks short of his 68th birthday.

All of you that were in and around the Boulder, CO Fraternity house in the mid to late 70's would have known and remembered Kirk Smith in the fondest of ways. I know of no one else who did a better job of living his life in the terms of our revered motto: Love, Honor and Truth.

In the end, no matter what material things and accolades that we collect through our short existence in this world, our motto is all that really matters. Kirk lived a life that was very true to that in every sense of the word. Loving husband, father and friend, he lives forever in our hearts and minds and we shall never forget his friendship, love and times together at the Sigma Nu house in Boulder, CO.

To that end, I am starting this Go Fund Me page to raise funds for our dear fallen brother and have his name memorialized in a plaque on the Sigma Nu Buffalo Brothers Memorial outside our fraternity house in Boulder Colorado. The funds raised ($2000 minimum for the plaque), will go to the Gamma Kappa Legion of Honor Foundation. The funds are managed by an independent board for EN scholarships, philanthropy, community outreach and leadership training. I can think of niothing more fitting to honor Kirk's Memory. Hopefully we can raise a substantial amount above $2000 to honor his memory.

The plaque will be installed and dedicated on Saturday, September 21st, 2024 at the EN house in Boulder, CO. Hope to see many of you there.
