Kielder Walk Challenge

On Saturday 16th May Sean and I will be completing the 25 mile Kielder Walk Challenge  - completing the entire Lakeside Way route alongside family and friends in aid of Tiny Lives - the charity that supports premature and sick babies and their families on the neonatal unit at the RVI. Sebastian spent 12 days on the unit when he was born 8 weeks prematurely and the work the charity does to support the medical staff and families is incredible.

The unit cares for up to 750 a babies a year needing intensive care and special care treatment from across the North East and Cumbria and requires £350,000 a year to continue providing services which includes support packages for families, a neonatal physiotherapist, specialist training so nursing staff can access the latest developments in neonatal care, a dedicated social worker,  research grants to enable the unit to lead on neonatal care  and for the most unfortunate, bereavement support for families going through the unimaginable.

Having a baby who requires neonatal care can be a really stressful and emotional time and we felt so lucky to live so close to a hospital which provides such amazing care as other are not as fortunate.

Any donations would be greatly appreciated and we’d love you to join us too!

As Sebastian’s parents we are so grateful for this amazing charity and as we watch our baby thrive we definitely feel indebted to them.

Do you want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money in aid of Tiny Lives Trust and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
