The Kids Left Behind
Spende geschützt
Our family has suffered a tragedy that no family should ever have to endure. The senseless loss of a young man who had so much life to live is an impossible thing to understand. On Saturday, January 2nd Marc Savard II was hanging out with his roommate and some friends. As all 22 year olds, they were having a great time. They were talking and enjoying their time together. As they were hanging out and doing whatever, Marc reached under the couch to grab his shotgun and the weapon discharged by accident. The gun was pointed at his face. He lost his life. He also lost the entire left side of his face, all the bone structure, and his left eye in the process. The severe brain swelling caused a massive amount of damage, and that is what left him brain dead. His friends witnessed the entire tragic and violent event. They tried to piece him back together until the paramedics arrived. No one should ever have to endure something so gruesome and those kids that were present are going to require help, lots of it.
We sat around as a family and discussed what to do. What should we do to honor Marc’s memory in lieu of flowers? How can we help others and make a positive impact in the face of this tragedy? What would Marc want?
We’ve decided his friends are going to need help. They will need grief counseling. They will need financial, and emotional support. His room mate will have to move. They need to buy new furniture that was ruined by this tragic accident. They will not be able to live in the place where Marc’s life ended. We do not want finances to prevent them from seeking this much needed help, so we’re raising money to help them.
Sandy, Marc’s mother, will be in charge of this fund. So we ask of you, instead of flowers, please donate to help these kids. I know you probably don’t consider 22 year olds to be kids. But I’ve seen them, spent time with them, and talked about the events that have occurred. They haven’t slept. They haven’t eaten. They NEED help. Please, help them.
Anything you can give, $10, $20, $50, $100. If you can give more, please do. Thank you for all of your prayers, love and support during this time.
