The 6th Annual Walk for Hope 2021
Every year thousands of families can’t give their children the chance to celebrate
Christmas. Could you imagine being a child and waking up on Christmas to no tree, no gifts, or
no Christmas meal to have with your family. This is reality for children in our very own community
every year and sadly, many children have also lost or don’t know the true meaning of Christmas.
Most of us get so lost in buying gifts and worrying about everything other than the meaning of
this joyous holiday.
The Walk for Hope was created by a single mother who has lived in poverty and knows
too well what it is like to have to try to make Christmas the best it could possibly be when having
nothing to start with. The Walk for Hope was made to show her children that there are others out
there that are in way worse shape than most know; and show them the true meaning of
Christmas by giving back to the community.
This Walk for Hope is also based off a vision of Bob Tretheway’s of Christmas Unlimited,
who has helped thousands of families in our community every year to ensure their children have
presents to wake up too on Christmas morning. This event has become the legacy of Bob
Trethaway known as the Santa of Colorado Springs who passed away a few years ago. There are
sponsors that have with the WFH the past 3 shows that remain on our team so many sponsors with
huge connections to do advertising including television and radio ads. Some sponsors include
Tapia Advertising, Once Upon a Child, and BrandU, Louie’s Pizza, and so many more. We have
had so many people who have helped and made a difference in our community.
