Hello everyone and welcome to Kids of 254 Orphanage Awareness,
my project to help needy children in Kenya. Since returning to Kenya in April 2019 I have been following along with a local non-profit organisation here in Nairobi that assists children and youth in orphanages, destitute families and schools in poor neighbourhoods and slums. This project is something I'm really passionate about and I am asking for your help.
The purpose of this fundraiser is to support the children of three orphanages (an estimated 150) with their school fees which range between 25000-30000 KES ($245-295) per child in addition to school books, supplies and uniforms. As these orphanages are located in the slums of Kayole, Huruma, Korogocho and Kasarani the average home visited is in very derelict condition and is in great need of maintenance through roof repairs, beds, linen, small items such as cleaning products, toilet paper, food replenishment, utilities and payment of in house staff at each home.
The most important thing is that the children receive their education and it has been brought to my attention that some of the children have been suspended from school due to unpaid fees so our biggest focus is helping the children who need to resume their studies as soon as possible and to secure their placement in courses in the next term.
This will be an ongoing fundraiser and any amount from $5 would be greatly appreciatedList of orphanages I am working with:
Baraka Children's Home- 80 children
Zam Zam Centre Home & Madrasa 40
Ibrahim House of Hope 30
Elizabeth Njeri Children’s Daycare Centre & Orphanage 45
If you would like additional information on the children or to sponsor a child for the school year please feel free to contact me directly or I can provide you with contact information for the directors of each orphanage.
Thank you for your contribution.
