Kidney Transplant Surgery and Medical Costs

Hi, my name is Colton Richard Boyd and I was born on August 4, 2022 to my mom Jen and my dad Kyle.

When I came into this world, I was unable to breathe or cry. My doctors were able to get me on a breathing machine almost immediately, but they are worried about damage to my brain.

After running a LOT of medical tests, the doctors discovered that my kidneys were cystic and enlarged, causing my inability to breathe.

They were able to get me stabilized to the point that I was able to be transferred to Children’s hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) to see a kidney specialist.

I have since been put on a life support machine, dialysis, and an Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation machine (ECMO).

I am probably going to have to stay in the hospital for many months, which is going to cost a LOT of money. I may eventually need both kidneys to be replaced as well, but the doctors aren’t 100% sure of that, I may just be on medication for the rest of my life.

I’d be very grateful if you can help out my folks with some of the expenses for my medical care and treatment. It’s starting to get pretty expensive.
