Rebuild houses in the Khumbu, Nepal
Donation protected
Some Sherpa friends of ours who live in a small village called Khumjung in the Everest area have had their homes severely damaged by the Earthquake in Nepal. Their own home will probably need to be completely rebuilt and many others in their village have significant structural damage. These homes are not safe to live in anymore, so our friends are living in a small tent (husband, wife and 2 children aged 5 and 7). There are many others in a similar situation.
Whilst the people in the Khumbu have an immediate need for shelter, they will also suffer economically as there will be no tourists visiting this area. This will have a flow on effect throughout the entire region as most people are dependent on tourism - working as guides, porters or cooks. Having money to spend on rebuilding will help all these people out.
If you can contribute, that would be much appreciated and obviously 100% of the money will go directly to people who need it (we will transfer 100% of these funds directly to the people in the village, so it will have maximum impact).
