My husband, Josh needs your help. He is a 2 time Iraqi Veteran, and Purple Heart Recipient. His first deployment (he volunteered) was from January 2004 til September 2004 to Iraq. In that time, Josh has received a purple heart. On May 9th, 2004 his convoy was hit by an Improvised explosive device(IED). Joshs injuries were blown ear drums, and was on light duty for 2 weeks than returned to finish his tour. He returned to reserve status in September 2004. Than his reserve unit was activated. Since Josh was already deployed once he had the option not to deploy with his unit. Josh volunteered to go and serve with his unit for a 2nd tour. After completing his 2nd deployment joshs contract was up, he left the Marine Corps May 2007. After Josh was out for a couple of months, he decided to reenlist to the Marine Corps. He had an extention for 11 months. Than we found out I was expecting our first child, and josh decided not to reenlist. Josh official retired September 2009 with an Honorable Discharge.

Josh has always preserved with getting things done. We had hit hard times, with a job loss and we had to move in with my family for a period of time. It wasn't working out, so we moved in with his parents for a short period of time. Than in 2010/2011 we lived in a house that we were renting, and was taken advantage of our kindness. In June 2011 I found out we were expecting our 2nd child. We were given names of people and organizations that were able to help us get out of that house. In July 2011 we moved to an apartment out of Reading, Pa. We had the help we needed, but we still did things for ourselves, we never liked asking for help for anything. Josh than signed up for college courses at Alvernia University for forensic science in January 2012. The next month, February 2012 we had our 2nd son. He was sent to the INCU for breathing problems. We than found out he had a narrow aorta and needed to be sent to Hershey Medical Center to have his heart operated on. While I stayed in the hospital recovering, my brother-in-law stayed with our oldest son at our apartment, and joshs' mother took him out to Hershey Ronald McDonald house for a room to stay. He was also talking to all the doctors and nurses making sure our baby was o.k. and what will happen next. I than got discharged from the hospital, went home to get our oldest son, packed clothes and went out to Hershey. I got to hold my son for the first time February 13th, 2012 and for a little bit until he had to go for surgery. February 14th, 2012 our baby had open heart surgery. Slowly, day by day our son got stronger and stronger. We finally made it home as a family on February 23rd, 2012. Josh has battled to find a stable job, and is now working as a dispatcher for kutztown university part time. He has discovered that becoming a police officer is the career he wants to achieve.

Josh has never asked for help, and this is the first time he really needs your help. We have been married for 9 years and together for 11 years, and throughout all these years coming to know myself and my husband, he is very humble and rather struggle than have help. Please could you help reach his dream. Tution for the police academy has to be paid in full by January 18, 2016.
