Kenya Out-reach Program

In July of 2019 I have the opportunity to volunteer along the Kenyan Outreach Program with my Sixth Form. The 16-day program is designed to immerse volunteers within the culture while providing support in medical and educational areas.

The program begins with our team volunteering in the local hospitals. I have been invited to observe procedures and interact with patients. The remainder of the program includes time to visit the local primary and secondary schools. Our Sixth Formers will have the opportunity to teach classes and engage with the students. Our team will meet the Girl’s Rescue Centre and understand the life of East Africa. We are also excited to learn more about the Agroforestry Project designed to create sustainable farming.

While traveling our team will be hosted in local hostels and tents on Lake Naivasha. I’m excited for this opportunity to volunteer, but also for my personal aspirations of being a neurosurgeon. I would be grateful for the chance to volunteer for a program that is so close to my personal aspirations.
